Product Engineer Responsibilities
  • Develop an environment of continual improvement through the use of Lean tools.
  • Establish and implement product design and manufacturing changes for cost reduction and improved product performance.
  • Improve product yields of legacy products through redesign and part specification efforts.
  • Resolve product performance issues as a result of design or component limitations.
  • Work with Test Engineering with the training of operators and technicians on products.
  • Revision of project data, including schematic drawings, mechanical sketches, and bills of material.??
  • Design circuits, systems or structures as required by the sustaining design project manager.
  • Calibration, data collection, and environmental testing of prototypes.
  • Technical support and sustaining engineering for manufacturing operations.
  • Technical support to purchasing for vendor or parts selection.
  • Be able to describe the quality policy and goals, your contribution to quality, and the effects of not observing quality and customer requirements.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the manager.

Product Engineer Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with demonstrated technical knowledge of circuits and mechanical aspects of resistive products or instrument design.??
  • RF circuit design, troubleshoot and analysis to resolve problems and improve product quality and/functionality.
  • Familiarity with electronic manufacturing processes, particularly Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and final assembly test.
  • Good troubleshooting and "bench skills."
  • Strong knowledge of analysis and problem solving.
  • Ability to use modern simulation tools for circuit and field analysis.
  • AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience helpful.
