The Industrial HVAC Technician position covers the repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment in processing, industrial and commercial environments.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain various HVAC and electrical equipment
  • Use various vendor supplied software interface systems to check, adjust, troubleshoot, repair multiple types of heating and cooling systems
  • Clean condensers for air- and water-cooled systems using appropriate equipment
  • Check, adjust, troubleshoot, repair constant volume and variable air volume systems, dampers and various types of air duct reheat systems
  • Ability to install and to recognize proper piping configurations, techniques and processes, sizing, distances, trapping, and filtering
  • Replace and repair multiple types of semi hermetic refrigeration compressors and capacity control components
  • Check, adjust, troubleshoot, repair variable speed and electronically controlled compressors, electric motors, speed controllers, variable frequency drives, power distribution components
  • Use HVAC graphical interface to perform preventative maintenance work, monitor building systems for failed or malfunctioning equipment, adjust settings for occupants’ comfort
  • Remain up to date with latest technology, codes and standards
    • This could include off-site/out of town training

 
Qualifications:             
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Commercial / Industrial setting
  • Trade school certification or Military equivalent
  • High School Diploma
  • Trained in NEC NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E
  • Knowledge in motor theory and repair
  • Strong electrical knowledge/background
  • EPA license to handle and work with refrigerants
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints including Mechanical, P&ID’s, Wiring diagrams
  • Experience with HVAC specialty systems, Building Automation Systems, centrifugal chillers, hot water boilers, refrigerant systems, frequency drives, and variable air volume
  • Solid computer and electronics skills
  • Physically strenuous routines involving climbing, pushing, pulling or lifting up to 80 pounds
  • Confined spaces, which will necessitate extended occurrences of kneeling, stooping, lying down, as well as other physically awkward positions with elevations up to 100 feet
  • Work selected holidays as well as overtime and weekends
  • Must be willing to be on a rotational on-call program for emergencies outside of 1st shift hours
  • Experience with Siemens Building Automation System, cascade refrigerant systems and SAP preferred
