Industrial Lab Technician will work in a research lab that supports stable operations, productivity, and growth projects across the network including the Composites and Insulation businesses. This position will report to the Raw Materials Lab Leader and will take on activities such as glass melting and testing of various raw materials.

Industrial Lab Technician Responsibilities:
  • Follows all safety procedures and protocols in the labs and on site.
  • Follows all lock-tag-try procedures.
  • Actively participates in TPM deployment throughout the lab spaces.
  • Prepare samples for various analyses.
  • Work with various glass and raw material samples.
  • Physical property testing on a variety of materials such as glass and refractory brick.
  • Work in a hot environment to melt glass and test refractory samples.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure lab requests are complete in a timely manner.
  • Actively contribute to team troubleshooting to ensure the fulfillment of lab goals and objectives.
Industrial Lab Technician Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED – bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Mechanical and manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with raw material splitting and grinding.
  • Experience with particle size sieving.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with saws and other equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
