Sr. Geotechnical Engineer will play a key role, and serve as Team Lead, of the Geotech Team in performing geotechnical explorations and investigations for our clients

Sr. Geotechnical Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Performing geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, slope stability assessments, and risk evaluation on developments.
  • Training and supervision of lab technicians, maintenance of quality reviews and certifications, management of equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation. 
  • Training and development of lesser-experienced Engineers (EI/EIT and new PEs).
  • Tracking project progress in both timeline and budget/profit-loss capacities. 
  • Assisting Marketing with the technical aspects in generating proposals.  
  • Overseeing quality of work submitted (QA/QC). 
  • Ability to work independently on broad projects with oversight/supervision by the Dept. Manager. 
  • Providing direction on a project to project basis – i.e.  preparing lab testing assignments, reviewing documents, and testing results for content and accuracy.
  • Preparing geotechnical engineering reports. 
  • Interacting with clients on technical aspects of the projects.
  • Reviewing soils laboratory test results.
  • Assisting in planning and the execution of subsurface investigation programs - including the understanding of project design plans, locating test borings at project sites, coordinating underground utility clearance.
  • Design development and analysis of earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems. 
  • Performing analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations and slope stability evaluations.
  • Monitoring and enforcing quality control standards and specifications.

Sr. Geotechnical Engineer Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is highly preferred
  • Active P.E. licensure or willingness to obtain is required
  • 7+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects required
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read design drawings.
  • Ability to meet schedules.
  • Experience with common geotechnical software or be able to utilize software with minimal training.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, quality minded, and detail oriented.
