Sales Engineer will join a manufacturer of automated machinery used in vinyl materials manufacturing. This position will act as single point of contact to customers, technical expert throughout ordering, scoping, and production process, and will coordinate and process customers’ orders. Qualified individuals must have the ability to work with customers and the sales team, ensuring we are providing the best products for the customer’s needs.
Sales Engineer Responsibilities:
- Consult with customers to acquire and validate all necessary documentation and samples required to start the production process.
- Identify customer needs and provide engineering support to maximize effective application of current and future equipment offerings.
- Provide technical sales support for quoting process and coordinate efforts with engineering. Prepare cost estimates in conjunction with sales quoting process.
- Be single point of contact between sales, engineering, and the customer after order placement. Coordinate customer needs with Sales, and Design / Controls Engineering departments.
- Prepare technical order specifications to define project scope and customer expectations.
- Create customer floor plan to specify machine placement, utility requirements and drop points.
- Perform machine cycle time, efficiency, and performance calculations.
- Oversee ERP project inputs of new orders.
- Communicate project progress with customers and departments to keep all aware and aligned.
- Oversee customer visits for equipment Factory Acceptance Testing (F.A.T.).
- Coordinate shipping logistics of machinery to customer site.
- Develop project management tools and sales tools to better present value proposition.
- Contribute to operations effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues to be addressed, recommending options and courses of action.
- Up to 10% annual travel, to customer sites and manufacturing facilities, both domestically and internationally
Sales Engineer Requirements:
- Minimum of a 2-year degree, or equivalent experience in engineering or technology fields.
- Previous industrial machinery manufacturing industry experience preferred.
- Skills in AutoCAD required. Additional experience in SolidWorks, and Engineering Base preferred.
- Experience with CRM/ERP systems.
- Strong communication skills. Detail oriented. Positive attitude. Driven to succeed.
