About the Role 
We are seeking a licensed Actuary with a strong focus on captive insurance to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a creative problem solver with experience in rating captives and simplified rating models. You will play a key role in developing and refining actuarial methodologies in-house to support a range of captive insurance programs, working closely with internal teams and clients to create customized risk solutions.  
 
Key Responsibilities 
  • Captive Rating & Pricing: Develop and refine simplified rating models for captive insurance programs. 
  • Actuarial Analysis: Conduct loss forecasting, reserve analysis, and pricing evaluations for captives. 
  • Program Design: Collaborate with risk consultants, underwriters, and finance teams to structure customized risk financing solutions. 
  • Creative Problem Solving: Innovate and adapt actuarial techniques to fit the unique needs of captive insurance clients. 
  • Data Interpretation: Analyze historical claims data and trends to enhance pricing strategies. 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure actuarial methodologies align with industry regulations and captive requirements. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to support captive feasibility studies, underwriting, and financial modeling. 
 
What We’re Looking For 
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related  
  • Licensed Actuary with relevant credentials (ASA, ACAS, FSA, or FCAS preferred). 
  • Minimum 2+ years of actuarial experience, with a focus on captive insurance and rating methodologies. 
  • Strong understanding of simplified rating models and experience developing pricing structures for captives. 
  • Highly creative thinker with the ability to apply actuarial principles in non-traditional, alternative risk environments. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Experience with actuarial modeling tools and software (Excel, R, Python, SQL, or other relevant platforms).
