About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Director – Captive Insurance to join our team. This highly autonomous role is ideal for a strategic, entrepreneurial-minded professional with extensive experience in captive insurance management. In this role, you will operate as a Managing General Agent (MGA) at times, facilitating captive insurance solutions and managing programs for clients. You will provide independent consulting and support to organizations seeking to establish or optimize their captives. This is a consultative sales role focused on strategic client solutions and program execution. The role involves extensive client interaction through virtual meetings, in-depth discussions, and ongoing collaboration, with occasional travel (5%) for client visits, conferences, and team meetings.

Key Responsibilities
- MGA Operations: Act as an MGA when required, managing captive insurance programs and facilitating solutions for clients.
- Consultative Leadership: Provide expert guidance on captive insurance strategies, helping executive leaders optimize and manage their captive programs effectively.
- Client Engagement: Develop and manage captive insurance programs, ensuring seamless execution and strategic alignment.
- Strategic Advisory: Work closely with clients to address complex challenges and provide tailored risk management solutions.
- Market Development: Strengthen the company’s presence within the captive insurance market by building and maintaining key relationships.
- Project Management: Lead initiatives that support the growth and optimization of captive programs.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work cross-functionally with internal teams while maintaining independence in consulting activities.
- Travel: Attend client meetings, industry conferences, and team gatherings as needed (approximately 5%).
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience in captive insurance management and captive insurance solution architecture.
- 8+ years of experience in captive insurance
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to strategize and execute solutions.
- Ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, and drive initiatives forward.
- Client solution mindset with the ability to communicate and problem-solve in high-pressure situations.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and executive relationship-building skills.
- Highly self-guided, adaptable, organized, and excellent at holding oneself accountable.
- Emotionally intelligent with strong interpersonal skills.
