Physician Administrator Responsibilities:
- Align clinical operations with the agency’s health equity goals and population health strategies to improve service quality and access.
- Lead teams to implement utilization management and quality improvement policies, ensuring industry standards with a person-centered, equity-focused approach.
- Oversee managed care organization compliance with provider agreement and regulatory requirements.
- Drive large-scale quality improvement initiatives across managed care entities, emphasizing equity and person-centered care.
- Provide organizational leadership, mentoring teams to meet agency goals and enhance healthcare delivery.
- Contribute to public health service transformation, from planning to evaluation, ensuring alignment with equity and performance goals.
- Offer clinical oversight for all public health services, including pharmacy programs, for eligible Ohioans in various programs.
- Integrate current evidence and best practices into clinical guidelines, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Prepare technical materials to inform policy decisions and engage stakeholders in cohesive clinical input.
- Conduct analysis of agency data and research initiatives to guide improvements in healthcare outcomes.
- Represent the department in clinical workforce engagement and care coordination efforts, including complex case management.
Physician Administrator Requirements:
- MD or equivalent, with experience as a practicing physician in Ohio.
- Knowledge of healthcare administration, strategy, policy, and state/federal regulations.
- Strong skills in data analysis, statistics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Preferred experience with public medical assistance programs and health planning.
- Ability to manage quality assurance, corrective actions, and sensitive communications with various stakeholders.
