The Legal Case Manager will be responsible for administrative and case management tasks, ensuring efficient operations within the firm. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong communication skills, and be eager to learn about legal procedures.
Legal Case Manager Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, and client letters.
- Assist in case management by organizing files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining case status updates.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and third parties regarding case-related matters.
- Perform data entry and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
- Conduct basic legal research and compile relevant case materials.
- Handle billing, invoicing, and expense tracking as needed.
- Coordinate the collection and organization of discovery materials.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and legal regulations.
- Support attorneys with trial preparation, including assembling exhibits and case summaries.
Legal Case Manager Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Prior administrative or customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software (preferred).
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures (preferred but can be trained).
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
