The Director, Project Management Office will ensure the successful delivery of capital projects for the company. They will provide strategic vision and leadership ensuring alignment with company objectives, driving capital effectiveness and excellence.
Director, Project Management Office Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership in project portfolio execution, defining methodologies and driving efficiency.
- Enhance capital effectiveness through benchmarking, performance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement tools and best practices to improve project predictability and success.
- Deliver data-driven insights, including industry comparisons, to inform decision-making.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
- Evaluate and prioritize project proposals based on strategic value and business impact.
- Lead the PMO, overseeing a team of project managers, cost estimators, controllers, and safety managers.
- Mentor and develop PMO staff, fostering a high-performing team and a strong talent pipeline.
- Optimize resource allocation across projects, balancing budgets, schedules, and business priorities.
- Align project objectives with corporate goals, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee governance, performance tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Establish and continuously improve program management frameworks, tools, policies, and metrics to enhance efficiency, accountability, and project success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in capital project management within a process manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated history of leadership and strategic management skills to direct a team and achieve objectives.
- Ability to develop, coach, and direct the performance of a team.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly with capital projects.
- Strong background in evaluating project performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Experience in using stage gate and/or Front-End Loading (FEL) processes.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills to prioritize needs.
- Proven leadership effectiveness and ability to clearly communicate and interact with all levels of the organization including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to travel 30% for project oversight.
