Project Engineer will be responsible for completion of electrical design and drafting duties related to all areas of the plant and associated engineering disciplines.
Project Engineer Responsibilities:
- Works independently on job assignments, taking basic project information and producing finished engineering drawings suitable for bidding and construction.
- Documents produced include electrical schematics, connection diagrams, motor schematics, loop diagrams, electrical classification drawings, installation details, miscellaneous construction and as-built drawings.
- Electrical & Instrumentation system design.
- Applying sound project design engineering principles.
- Ensure systems and equipment are designed and installed in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Assist with project reviews and system design.
- Review field installations to ensure compliance with design.
- Verification and completion of as-built drawings.
- Work directly with Project Engineers, Project Planners and Construction Field Coordinators to define project implementation requirements.
- Develop electrical & instrumentation drawings.
- Field verification as required to support project design.
- May be responsible for making project design decisions.
Project Engineer Requirements:
- Associate degree in Drafting/Design Technology or equivalent.
- 8+ years experience in electrical & instrumentation design in the process and industrial field.
- Excellent Auto CAD operating skills.
- Field verification technique knowledge.
- Understanding of electrical & instrumentation design practices and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of design codes, standards and regulations (i.e., NEC,OSHA, ADA, , etc.) as may be applicable to electrical & instrumentation.
- Previous manufacturing experience - particularly with process related equipment (i.e., Switch Gear, MCC, Power Panels, Instruments and I/O systems, etc.).
- Capable of working independently.
- The ability to ascend and descend stairs on a periodic basis.
- The ability to access all areas of the plant.
- Extended hours and weekend work required when needed to support plant activities.
