Job Summary
The Plant Engineering & Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all plant engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role involves managing the maintenance team, driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and leading capital and expense projects that enhance production processes and facility performance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and protocols.
- Provide reliable engineering and maintenance support to achieve EHS, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
- Lead the maintenance function to ensure equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.
- Develop and enhance preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including calibrations, inspections, and new procedures.
- Conduct root-cause investigations for equipment failures and process issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with Operations to prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly repair and maintenance schedules.
- Manage the site’s capital projects program, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet business objectives.
- Oversee the training, development, and performance management of the maintenance team.
- Lead and manage the annual site maintenance shutdown.
- Ensure proper inventory management of spare parts and equipment in the Maintenance storeroom.
- Maintain accurate facility and equipment records, including files, drawings, and historical data.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Lean and Kaizen methodologies.
- Adhere to Quality and Environmental, Health, Safety & Security policies, and comply with ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of plant engineering or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Lean and/or Kaizen leadership is preferred.
- Ability to manage long-term strategic projects while addressing short-term operational needs.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical, technical, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and maintenance management systems; SAP knowledge preferred.
