The Lab Technician will be responsible for supporting the Technology Group by conducting applications testing associated with new product development and existing products as well as recording data under the direction of Technical Team Members.

Lab Technician Responsibilities:
  • Work in a safe manner, obeying all Health, Safety and Environment guidelines and proactively working to improve safety and housekeeping in the lab and the offices.
  • Collaborate as a team member to strengthen the Energy Solutions Team.
  • Learn and follow procedures for conducting applications testing in a lab setting and alert a Scientist/ Manager if the procedure does not look correct.
  • Capable of running more than one application test at a time.
  • Set-up, program and replace equipment as needed to maintain temperature control, pressure, etc.
  • Learn and understand the key test factors which affect test result quality (i.e. impact of temperature, pressure & time, etc.) and document any deviation from the written procedure or expected results.
  • Document activity in the laboratory database accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Handle and clean laboratory equipment and containers on a regular basis.

Lab Technician Requirements:
  • High school Diploma and/or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial laboratory position (energy industry preferred)
  • Familiarity with industrial lab safety practices and procedures
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration
  • Willingness and ability to learn safety procedures, applications tests, and lab operations.
  • Base proficiency or willingness to learn Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Looking for a highly motivated person with action-oriented personality
  • Ability to work independently with supervision in an empowered team atmosphere
  • Must have a high regard for safety of yourself and safety of others
  • Strong reading, listening, multitasking, problem solving, time management skills

Lab Technician Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Engineering or Science related field
  • Familiarity with handling hazardous materials safely
  • Chemicals manufacturing experience
  • Understanding of common analytical techniques
