Lab Technician l has the primary responsibility of supporting the development of solutions for the Coatings Industry. This position works in a chemistry lab to help the architectural coatings group by preparing, painting, and rating various substrates for natural weathering. 

Lab Technician l Responsibilities:
•    Mixing chemicals, testing samples, and documentation. 
•    Coordinate projects with the exterior technical specialist.
•    Perform repetitive tasks such as board painting with coatings provided by other lab members, reading color and gloss changes on the boards at planned time intervals, and rating the boards for coating degradation. 
•    Daily data entry and preparation of reports.
•    Performing tasks outside such as substrate mounting and removal from the test fence. 

Lab Technician l Qualifications:
•    A high School diploma is required with 4 years practical laboratory experience, an Associate’s degree with 1 years practical laboratory experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field. Company recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
•    Experience in laboratory activity - performance experiments and familiarity with basic chemical mixing are required.
•    Basic knowledge of chemical instrumentation, chemical compatibility, chemical handling, and chemical storage is required.
•    Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable with email, MS Word, and MS Excel.
•    Must have the highest standards of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
•    Experience in vendor management - ordering materials, and cataloging materials is a plus.
•    Experience in technical documentation desired.
