The primary responsibility of the Logistics Specialist is to manage the day-to-day interaction and coordination of the export of seed and non-seed (chemical, specialized, research) items exiting the US through arrival in destination country.
Logistics Specialist Responsibilities:
  • With minimal supervision, perform Export documentation activities and functions in compliance with organizational policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adjust to variable tasks in order to meet efficiency standards, and report any non- compliant issues to the T&C Lead or the T&C Manager
  • Ensure all export Phytosanitary Certificates are maintained and organized for retrieval
  • Prepare documents/legalizations and accompanying correspondence based on the received orders and order documents
  • Prepare transport orders and plan concerning capacity and loading/unloading times
  • Invoice customers, both domestic and international
  • Validate all documents required for shipping internationally to assigned destinations
  • Ensure that all product flow meets international trade compliance requirements and that document controls are in place to support full trade compliance
  • Provide reporting and analytical support for other trade team initiatives, as necessary
  • Ensure importing / exporting country (customer / Monsanto site) requirements can be met in a compliant and expedient manner
  • Handles complex regions global trade accounts
Logistics Specialist Requirements:
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must have the flexibility to work overtime when necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written (via correspondence/email) communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write English with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents associated with domestic and international shipping
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis in excel and word.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills, SAP knowledge highly desired
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, team-based and matrix environment
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to APHIS, Customs and Border Protection, USDA and other government agency laws and regulations
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Business Administration, Logistics, Manufacturing, International Commerce
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience and knowledgeable in Import, Export, Trade & Compliance
  • Experience with agricultural and / or chemical products a plus
