MRP Planner will be accountable for the effective development, implementation and maintenance of the Production Plan to meet Forecasted Sales, Finished Goods and Raw Material inventory targets, Forecasted Absorption and desired OTIF rates. The MRP Planner will work with the Operations and Customer Service Teams to facilitate the Production Planning process to meet long and short-term goals and strategies. Schedule the supply of materials/components using MRP to meet production needs.
 
MRP Planner Responsibilities:
  • Ensure/assist in compliance to safety, environmental, training, transportation and all other regulations that the company must abide by
  • Work with the Production Manager to develop the Master schedule for both the Stearate and Powder Plants
  • Provide monthly supply forecast based on sales forecasts and inventory targets for absorption planning
  • Prepare and execute daily production plans, complete finite scheduling in SAP that is in line with the monthly supply forecast in the absorption plan
  • Convert the weekly plan into a detailed finite schedule for all production lines in the plants. 
  • Ensure batch sheets, labels, etc. are available to production before they are needed
  • Develop raw material/component forecasts and place purchase requisitions to ensure materials are available to meet production plans
  • Facilitate communication with other functional support groups within the organization to resolve issues impacting forward schedules
  • Communicate with customer service to coordinate and resolve issues pertaining to fulfillment of customer orders
  • Track metrics of actual vs. planned performance (schedule adherence, inventory levels and accuracy, etc.)
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to compare physical to perpetual inventory and make necessary inventory adjustments.  Identify and implement corrective actions to minimize or eliminate inventory discrepancies
  • Review off-spec, blocked, and aged inventories and schedule rework appropriately based on material disposition
  • Monitor and track raw material/component delivery dates to ensure availability to meet the production schedule. 
  • Work with Procurement to resolve any delivery issues and communicate to production of any delays that could impact production
  • Work with Production and Warehouse team to prioritize and reconcile the schedule for both Stearates and Powder Plants
  • Work with the Production Manager or Plant Manager to specify labor requirements
  • Compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position.

MRP Planner Skills:
  • 3 - 5 years of planning experience within manufacturing
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
  • Computer literate – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good customer skills, good communication skills both verbally and written, strong technical aptitude, multi-task oriented.
  • SAP experience required
