Human Resources Specialist Responsibilities:
- Payroll Management:
- Oversees the HR processing of payroll information as a collaborative partner with the Finance and Accounting department; act as backup to process payroll when needed.
- Oversee and manage all payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Resolve any payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll-related inquiries.
- Experience with Paycor is required.
- Talent Acquisition & Recruiting:
- Recruit personnel as needed to support the current operation and strategies, as well as future needs. Manage full life cycle recruitment (market, post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.). Complete hiring process within defined metrics to minimize overall time-to-start for salaried personnel.
- Lead and manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies for optimal integration of new hires and smooth employee departures.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and ensure a smooth recruitment process.
- Employee Relations:
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Mediate and resolve employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
- Office Administration & Safety:
- Perform various administrative duties, including filing, record-keeping, and general office support.
- Assist with other HR and administrative tasks as needed.
- Partner with the EH&S Director to drive a “safety first” culture in the facility.
- HRIS Systems:
- Responsible for maintaining accurate employee information in the HR system so that other processes, such as payroll, reporting, compensation, and benefits administration, work as intended; compiles reports and assists with data analysis.
- Maintains employee records, including HRIS data; compiles reports and assists with data.
Human Resources Specialist Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or related area required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on payroll, recruiting, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in Paycor or similar HR/payroll software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ideal Candidate Would Possess Experience In:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Human resources management: 8 years
- Workers' compensation and Unemployment Compensation: 2 years
- Leave Administration & processing: 2 years.
- Performance management: 5 years
- Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues
- Minimum of 5 years of working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Employment & labor law: 5 years
- Payroll (Paycor) Processing; 2 years
