Quality Assurance Lab Tech will be responsible for performing quality control and assurance testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. This will be done in accordance with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and RCMS Management System, ensuring compliance with all certification requirements. You will evaluate data using relevant software to confirm that results meet both internal and external specifications. If testing results do not meet the required standards, the appropriate individuals will be notified promptly. Additionally, you will support ongoing improvements in lab and plant processes through QA/QC activities to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Quality Assurance Lab Tech Responsibilities:
  • Complete verification protocols for instruments and standardize solutions as per documented procedures and maintain required records.
  • Conduct routine sample analysis following established methods and communicate with Operators and Supervisors regarding material quality.
  • Maintain documentation for chemical standards and ensure re-certification is completed and recorded as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot issues and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Report any unusual sample or equipment behavior to the supervisor.
  • Perform additional tasks such as routine chemical reactions or bench-scale tests, sample collection in the plant, environmental monitoring, and maintenance/verification of plant analytical instrumentation.
  • Utilize equipment and data software programs effectively.
  • Monitor and interpret SPC charts, taking appropriate actions as needed.
  • Optimize procedures through Measurement System Analysis or other methods.
  • Adhere to ISO/RCMS requirements.
  • Execute assigned duties as outlined by the supervisor, management, or their designee.
  • Be able to follow a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and work overtime as required.
Quality Assurance Lab Tech Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting
  • Experience in a QC/QA production lab environment supporting manufacturing, with skills aligned with the responsibilities mentioned (preferably in roles of increasing responsibility and familiarity with ISO/RCMS)
  • Solid understanding of general chemistry and laboratory safety
  • Proficiency in math and statistics
  • Competent in using computer software packages, including Microsoft Office, LIMS, and SAP
