The Electronic Lab Technician will support mechanical and electrical testing to meet the demands of the engineering departments to achieve product development, sustainment, and certification goals.  Additional requirements will be to help support test lab equipment, test request status, receive, ship test samples while adhering to EHS and 5S initiatives or activities. This position will perform functions as necessary to support product development and maintenance activities which include assembly of products and test setups. 

Electronic Lab Technician Responsibilities:
  • Conduct various electrical tests in accordance with various agency standards for electrical distribution products, as required, to meet the product development and sustaining testing demands.  
  • Record accurate test data on standardized forms for delivery to the project engineer.  
  • Contribute to organizing and maintaining lab 5S environment to meet goals and to ensure maximum efficiency.  
  • Compliance to all safety requirements. 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time to increase the efficiency in the lab and provide engineering on time test results.  
  • Share knowledge with other technicians as necessary to improve technician pool’s core knowledge and capabilities.
Electronic Lab Technician Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • An Associate Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Technology from an accredited institution of higher learning is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Critical thinking skills. 
  • A working knowledge of testing equipment and following procedures.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members to problem solve is required. 
  • Knowledge of word-processing and spread sheet software. (Could be up to 50% of daily task.) 
  • Aptitude in the use of hand tools for mechanical assembly and electrical wiring of test apparatus and devices to be tested. (Could be up to 80% of daily task.)
