Field Service Technician will undertake on-site assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair tasks for new and existing machinery installations. This role will work on complex automated manufacturing equipment. There is substantial travel, necessitating a strong customer orientation, proactive mindset, and proficiency in both mechanical and electrical machine operations.
Field Service Technician Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-site installation and commissioning of new machines.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify issues with existing machinery at customer sites.
  • Assist in the setup of new machinery installations at customer factories, including uncrating, alignment, and assembly.
  • Deliver training to operators and maintenance staff at customer locations.
  • Collaborate with customers on spare parts recommendations.
  • Provide insights for design enhancements to engineering.
  • Accurately document fieldwork in Service Reports.
  • Offer customer support via phone and PC remote diagnostics.
Field Service Technician Requirements:
  • 2-5 years' experience in building, installing, and repairing industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in both mechanical and electrical domains.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, electronics, wiring schematics, and basic computer operations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a positive attitude, attention to detail, drive for success, and reliability.
  • Capacity to travel extensively (90-100%) to customer locations within North America.
  • Ability to collaborate in team settings and work independently.
  • Preferred qualifications include a 2-year technical degree or technical/trade skills training.
