Communications Specialist Responsibilities:
- Communications and External Relations:
- Develop and execute communications strategies, including written content, video, and photography
- Handle media inquiries, create marketing materials, and manage community and external stakeholder engagement efforts.
- Prepare and engage employees for events and other external communication requests.
- Support planning and communication efforts for key events and tours including handling site visitor agendas, processing payments, and calendar management.
- Coordinate external stakeholder communications, logistics, and on-site event management.
- Ensure effective external relations with Community Engagement Committee through organized and engagement strategies.
- Internal Communications Management:
- Oversee the creation, management, and distribution of internal communication materials, including FFF employee newsletter, slides, flyers, Town Hall and Connections Meetings, and other communications as needed.
- Event and Tour Coordination:
- Setup and manage tours, including stakeholder communications, logistics, and on-site coordination.
- Be familiar with talking points for each stop, tailored for different stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain an internal technical network of experts based on visitor type and interest.
- Coordinate and distribute event-related swag and manage inventory and supply checks.
- Ensure all visitors and guests trained on and adhere to site safety policies.
- Creative and Graphic Support:
- Assist in creating graphics and other creative materials for both internal and external communications
- Video Production and Editing:
- Produce, film, edit, and script videos, including developing talking points for tours and communications.
- Business Support Flexibility:
- Provide support with business-related administrative tasks as needed, such as maintaining organization of documents related to communications, events, and stakeholder reactions.
- Track and manage meaningful interactions with stakeholders and internal visitors including general numbers of internal and 3rd party visitors.
- Assist with coordinating meetings, lunches, and other engagements with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all logistical details are handled smoothly.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in communications, with public relations agency or corporate experience and/or a journalism background preferred.
- Strong writing, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in computer skills and relevant software, with a strong knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures.
