The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems for combustion equipment. Oversee prototype development, test products for safety, and adjust them to meet engineering codes and safety standards. Create plans for regular inspections and ongoing maintenance to ensure  products stay at peak efficiency.
Electrical Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
  • Designs and understands electrical panel layouts, wiring diagrams, wiring methods, and control hardware.
  • Provides expertise of electrical codes like NEC, UL508 and good standard practices. 
  • Establishes specifications and designs from a customer’s broad description of the machine operation or the process.
  • Develops written instructions to describe the operation of designed equipment.
  • Specifies components for the system and helps with the sourcing.
  • Assists proposal teams as an eletrical subject matter expert.
  • Programs PLC and HMI systems using software such as RSLogix, RSView and FactoryTalk View.
  • Designs and understands system configuration control diagrams.
  • Establishes industrial networking communication using Ethernet, profibus, devicenet, or modbus.
  • Tests electrical systems before they’re shipped to the customer to ensure quality.
  • Provides technical assistance over the phone or onsite as needed.
  • Must be willing and able to travel ~5%.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Electrical Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required. 
  • Minimum 3 years experience working as an electrical engineer.
  • Must be organized with the ability to focus on priority projects and tasks. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical specifics to peers and customers.
  • Ability to understand complex electrical systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to keep up with current electrical advances using new technologies.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific tools to analyze and test electronics.
  • Time-management skills for meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all departments and levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products.
  • Production / manufacturing experience a plus.
