Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing the bi-weekly payroll systems and processes for multi-state and multi-site operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout.  This role will serve as an individual contributor while reporting into the Payroll and Benefits Manager.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Manage and execute the bi-weekly payroll for multi-state operations, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees.
  • Data Management: Review payroll data for accuracy, addressing any discrepancies promptly to maintain integrity in payroll processing.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze payroll reports to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Invoice Processing: Process invoices related to payroll and benefits, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in various HR administrative tasks, including collecting and verifying time cards and other employee documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and assist in implementing new procedures within the payroll system.
  • System Setup: Help in setting up and configuring payroll processes in the HRIS system, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Additional duties as needed
Payroll Specialist Requirements:
  • Minimum of a HS Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
  • Three (3) or more years of payroll experience, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in multi-site and/or multi-state operations
  • Proficiency in utilizing HRIS systems (ADP, Paycor, Paylocity, etc…); preference for experience in Paycom
  • Willingness to learn and continue growing professionally required
    • Training on processes, systems, and rules/laws will be provided
  • Strong communication skills, detail oriented, and experience working with a sense of urgency
