Night Shift

Maintenance Technician will perform all assigned work to support manufacturing process, troubleshooting and making repairs to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Make appropriate repairs to plant and property.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
  • Perform all assigned work to support manufacturing process
  • Troubleshoot and make repairs to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Test and observe performance of machinery after repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment/machinery as assigned
  • Read and understand prints and operating systems instructions
  • Complete documentation on shift maintenance, recording parts/ materials used
  • Order or requisition new parts or materials as necessary
  • Troubleshoot or service as appropriate HVAC and chiller systems as well as other facility related equipment
  • Provide support to all trades when installing new equipment and/or processes
  • Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime when needed
  • Answer calls on off hours to support production
  • Attend daily communication meetings
  • Perform 5S activities
  • Rebuild equipment as appropriate
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment
  • Use preventative maintenance software (MQ1) to perform essential PM’s as due
  • Searching for replacement parts using maintenance library computer (various websites)
  • Attend team shift huddles daily
  • Effectively communicate with next shift regarding daily happenings
  • Assist in tracking of inventory for replacement items around the plant

Maintenance Technician Requirements:  
Associates degree in Electrical Mechanical Technology and/or related field or state approved apprenticeship program and/or a minimum of ten years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment. Must provide own hand tools and mobile tool storage chest
  • Technology of plastics compounding
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read hydraulic diagrams
  • Hydraulic troubleshooting skills
  • Temperature control troubleshooting skills
  • Arc, Mig and Tig welding skills
  • Working knowledge of Safety and Environmental laws (OSHA and state codes and regulations)
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials
  • Good computer skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Goof conflict management
  • Good team skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of polymers, FRs, AOs, etc. desired
  • Vented FCM, K-Tron loss in weight feeders, underwater pelletizing and Single Screw experience desired
  • 5S experience desired
  • Basic understanding of PLCs desired
