Controls Engineer Summary:

We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join our team at. In this role, you will focus on developing automated machine systems and optimizing control algorithms, with a primary emphasis on PLC programming and proficiency in Visual Studio. While C++ knowledge is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Controls Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Interface with customers and sales to define project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop project estimates.
  • Design electrical controls for machines to meet customer specifications for vinyl sawing, welding, corner cleaning, and fabrication.
  • Develop PLC software for machine control to achieve defined performance objectives.
  • Create comprehensive electrical schematics.
  • Ensure timely engineering design release.
  • Provide technical support to customers, manufacturing, sales, and field service.
  • Drive productivity and enhance operator experience through programming changes, equipment updates, and HMI screen improvements.
  • Enhance and refine existing control systems, including robotic programs, PLC programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interfaces, hydraulics, and pneumatics distribution and control.

Controls Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical controls, with a strong focus on PLC programming.
  • Proficiency in Visual Studio for HMI programming; knowledge of C++ is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in motion control, robotics, machining, and automation.
  • Solid skills in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for electrical schematic design and system modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
