Research Associate Responsibilities
  • Researcher will safely and independently set up, operate, and maintain processes and equipment in an R&D environment where the primary product is new technical understanding and prototype products.
  • Individuals will conduct hands-on experiments, develop expertise in processes, work to understand relationships between key input and output variables, and independently run and improve equipment to understand operational limits and develop more robust products and processes.
  • Onboards to company systems and performs the basic and critical experimental work of day-to-day applied research.
  • Spends the largest percentage of time in the laboratory, developing foundational understanding via execution of basic laboratory skills, well defined tasks and sample analysis via standard methods with input from supervisor.
  • Masters basic operation of lab equipment required for the execution of standard methods and has attention to details on the analysis and results with the ability to recognize problems or unusual results with input from coach/manager.
  • Identifies better ways to execute tasks to help drive productivity.
  • This position requires development of both fundamental understanding and pragmatic application of the knowledge.
  • Work occurs in a fast-paced R&D environment, so every day is different.

Research Associate Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Engineering or Mechanical Field or HS diploma with experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude, math skills (geometry, trig, algebra), attention to detail, organization, collaboration
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to maintain accurate records of tests and experiments. Competence in writing reports and documenting procedures.
  • Flexibility to flow where the work is – might be working on several different projects concurrently.
  • Laboratory Experience: Strong background in conducting laboratory experiments, including data collection and analysis. Proficient in using laboratory equipment and following safety protocols.
