The IT Applications Specialist will be responsible for creating or configuring conditions, scripts, images, statements or code within high risk, complex applications. They will work with several Project Management Offices (PMOs), the vendor and project team members to build and configure Planview Portfolios, a Strategic Project Management Solution. For this assignment, you’ll design the application for based PMO requirements, along with retiring current solutions. You’ll provide system design recommendations and approaches along with administrating and configuring the application. Collaboration with the ERPMO, IT Platforms, Business PMOs on processes, standards, global configurations will be essential.


IT Applications Specialist Responsibilities: 
  • Lead meetings with IT and/or other Business areas to gain a thorough understanding of application requirements.
  • Define and document the requirements, and evaluate comprehensiveness, testability and usability of the requirements within the application.
  • Work with vendors to make necessary changes to applications.
  • Provide reporting and analysis to ensure application requirements can and are being met
  • Provides support and maintenance on assigned applications
  • Create complex artifacts (e.g., documentation, data flow diagrams, context diagrams) that are used in the design, development, and implementation of new systems and system enhancements.
  • Review and determine system capacity, data archiving and retention needs.

IT Applications Specialist Requirements: 
  • Experience designing, configuring and supporting complex applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT technologies, software applications and adjacent systems and data exchanges.
  • Knowledge of two or more IT Systems and/or software applications.
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data from various sources to determine next steps.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate technical information into understandable terms to a variety of audiences.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in an IT or Business-related discipline (such as MIS, Business Management) with 6 years of related work experience in technical tool administration that involves creating, testing, configuring, updating, manipulating, and/or scripting technical tools or applications.
  • In lieu of the above combination of education and experience, a minimum of 8 years of related work experience in technical tool administration experience creating, testing, configuring, updating, manipulating, and/or scripting technical tools or applications.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience using and configuring Planview Portfolios (formally known as Enterprise One)
  • Knowledge of other Planview solutions (ProjectPlace and AgilePlace)
