Senior IT Project Manager supports the project lifecycle across a range of strategic initiatives. Project scopes will include IT infrastructure, security, network, and business applications. This position will focus on ensuring the completion of projects within schedule, budget, and results needed.
Senior IT Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Supervise the entire lifecycle of intricate IT projects and/or programs from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery within budget, scope, and timeline constraints.
- Oversee several projects simultaneously according the PMI standards.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and define all aspects of the project, including stakeholders, requirements, scope, milestones, dependencies, costs, success criteria, and resources.
- Develop and maintain project management plans. Develop, oversee, and maintain the project schedule throughout its entire lifecycle.
- Track project progress and deliver consistent status updates to stakeholders, including insights on project health, risks, and challenges.
- Assess and address project risks and issues, proposing solutions to overcome potential obstacles and achieve results.
- Manage modifications to project scope, ensuring all changes are documented, reviewed, and authorized by stakeholders.
- Implement change control procedures affecting project constraints such as time, cost, scope, resources, quality, and risk.
- Establish and oversee communication strategies while managing project communications across all levels of the organization.
- Create and maintain all forms of project documentation and records.
- Collaborate with IT leaders to develop and roll out IT PMO standards and processes.
- Effectively manage product budget and work with a project controller as needed.
- Communicate effectively with other project managers across various functions to ensure cohesive project alignment.
- Ability to work with various business functions/disciplines, systems integrators, contractors, or other partners
- Facilitate post implementation reviews and lessons learned to contribute to continuous improvement and development
Senior IT Project Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
- PMP certification
- At least 8 years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, leading and delivering complex technical projects successfully.
- Experience preferred leading complex IT systems integration, working with manufacturing systems, and New COTS implementation experience (ERP, TMS, WMS, SCP, PLM, MDM, etc).
- System domain knowledge (especially SAP)
- IT Infrastructure domain knowledge (Storage, compute, networking, telephony, end user systems)
- Strong teamwork and cross-functional experience to problem solving and the ability to make sound, independent decisions
- Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction to others
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Direct work experience with project management tools
- Direct work experience managing projects with a budget of at least $1,000,000 from concept to completion
- IT PMO establishment and execution
- Ability to handle multiple tasks beyond the routine. High degree of independence, intuition, and initiative
- Willing to travel at least 25%
