Occupational Health Medical Office Assistant

Pay Rate: $20-21/HR
The Medical Office Assistant performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the Integrated Health Services Department running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be a Certified Medical Assistant, with strong administrative experience as well as clinical experience.
Medical Office Assistant Responsibilities:
- Front desk reception. Greets employees, provides employee copy of any needed medical forms, and gives instructions
- Answers phones and schedules appointments, as well as contacting employees to schedule appointments. Enters all scheduled appointments into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Assists employee with electronic completion of EMR Questionnaires.
- Completes document and information upload into EMR, including initial electronic clinic entry, scanned documents, and disability calls.
- Maintains spread sheet(s) and reports for Medical Surveillances, financial records, and other reports/spreadsheets/graphs.
- Provides administrative support for Employee Case Management.
- Prepares and types correspondence. Processes mail.
- Purchases and maintains supplies and equipment.
- Arranges for outside referrals, as directed by clinician.
- Assist with preparation for 1st and 2nd Party Audits.
- Support clinical activities including measuring and recording vital signs, reporting complaints to clinicians, assisting in exams, cleaning changing dressings, upkeeping exam room, and more.
- Perform routine surveillance screening/tests with appropriate training including Random Drug screens, Respirator fit tests, PFT, Audiogram, Vision screening, Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens, EKGs.
Medical Office Assistant Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience required.
- High School degree or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Office Assistant program or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
