Accountant

Job Overview: Manages and reports all financial information for the organization.

 

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Ensures timely, accurate month-end closing and financial reporting to management
  • Prepares and closes monthly and annual financial statements
  • Performs accounting processes and tasks such as general ledger activities and account reconciliation
  • Collaborates with internal parties to support inter-company activities
  • Assists in forecasting and budgeting exercises in accordance with all corporate guidelines
  • Coordinates and communicates with external parties, including auditors, tax agents, and government authorities, when required
  • Ensures compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirements, audits, procedures and forms
  • Assists in the implementation of new finance-based processes and systems
  • Maintains a good working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Experience with FreshBooks, QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
  • Proficient in using office software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Gmail, Google Docs, and PowerPoint
  • Possesses strong communication, time-management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively
  • Proven ability to work independently and/or as part of a team

Financial Analyst

Job Overview: Provides accurate and data-driven information on the company’s financial performance, solvency, stability, and liquidity.

 

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Consolidates and analyzes financial data, including budgets and income statement forecasts, while considering the company's goals and financial standing
  • Identifies and recommends solutions to improve financial performance and reduce expenses and risks
  • Analyzes and summarizes complex data to produce accessible reports on the financial status and risks of the company
  • Develops financial models, conducts benchmarking and performs process analysis
  • Conducts business studies on past, future and comparative performance to develop forecast models
  • Tracks and determines financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts
  • Consults with management to guide and influence long-term and strategic decision-making
  • Drives process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the finance function

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, accounting or a related field
  • Experience as a financial analyst
  • Experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
  • Possesses knowledge of financial forecasting, corporate finance, information analysis, current financial subjects, accounting principles, tax laws, money market trends and business environments
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases and financial software applications

AR / AP (Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable) Specialist

Job Overview: Overseas both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions and contribute to the overall financial efficiency of the organization. Manages financial transactions, ensures accurate and timely processing of payments and maintains strong relationships with clients, vendors and suppliers. 

 

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Processes, tracks and records all payments accurately and efficiently
  • Performs reconciliation of payments and customer accounts
  • Communicates discrepancies to managers and recommends collection strategies for delinquent customers
  • Identifies areas for improvement to streamline accounts receivable processes
  • Ensures integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting by adhering to national and local financial requirements
  • Collects and verifies invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
  • Maintains up-to-date accounts receivable records, including aging, credits, collections and miscellaneous differences
  • Performs daily cash management duties, including recording bank deposits, updating and distributing cash receipt logs and posting cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
  • Processes all payments accurately and efficiently, verifies invoices and performs account reconciliations as needed
  • Charges expenses to appropriate accounts
  • Maintains control over petty cash spending
  • Verifies vendor accounts, pays vendors, and resolves all purchase order, invoice or payment discrepancies
  • Issues purchase order amendments and stop payments as required
  • Monitors payroll expense claims, including salary advances and overtime payments
  • Reconciles account transactions with the general ledger

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Experience as an AR / AP Specialist
  • Understands basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
  • Proficient in accounting ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books or NetSuite
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information
  • Possesses strong communication, time-management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively
  • Proficient in using office software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Gmail, Google Docs, and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
