Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive EHS Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, implementing workplace safety programs, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and safety training to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide EHS training to employees, ensuring awareness of safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with leadership and employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Maintain and report safety and environmental data, including incident reports, safety inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Develop emergency response plans and lead safety drills to prepare for potential workplace incidents.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, new regulations, and best practices in environmental, health, and safety management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, industrial, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
- Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are a plus.
