Our research team is seeking a Contractor Field Scientist based in California's South San Joaquin Valley. The ideal candidate will be located near trial sites in areas such as Shafter, Corcoran, Five Points, and Dinuba, where they will independently execute and manage field trials. This role involves utilizing scientific and agronomic expertise to carry out important project plans focused on entomology, weed science, plant pathology, and nematology. The Field Scientist will collaborate closely with the Field Science Leader and other stakeholders to implement a field trial program that evaluates the efficacy, crop safety, and characteristics of crop protection and bio stimulant technologies in both specialty and row crops.

Our research team is seeking a Contractor Field Scientist based in California's South San Joaquin Valley. The ideal candidate will be located near trial sites in areas such as Shafter, Corcoran, Five Points, and Dinuba, where they will independently execute and manage field trials. This role involves utilizing scientific and agronomic expertise to carry out important project plans focused on entomology, weed science, plant pathology, and nematology. The Field Scientist will collaborate closely with the Field Science Leader and other stakeholders to implement a field trial program that evaluates the efficacy, crop safety, and characteristics of crop protection and bio stimulant technologies in both specialty and row crops.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, implement, evaluate, record, summarize, and archive field research focused on approved biology research questions
- Effectively interact with other Field Scientists, biology leaders, and commercial counterparts, collaborating on various research programs
- Perform robust data summary, statistical analysis, and reporting activities for project stakeholders
- Champion a world-class safety culture by actively learning, applying, and promoting best-in-class safety processes and procedures
Requirements:
- Education/Experience: MS in Entomology, Weed Science, Plant Pathology, or related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Field Expertise: Experience in applied agricultural field trials, pesticide application (license or ability to obtain one), and use of farm/field equipment.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of agricultural statistics and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical Requirements: Able to work outdoors in high temperatures, lift up to 50 lbs., and be medically approved for a respirator.
- Work Style: Self-motivated, flexible hours, and well-organized.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Other: Valid driver's license, ability to drive, English proficiency, U.S. work authorization, and availability during the current growing season.
