Laboratory Technician is responsible for supporting research and development activities within an R&D laboratory environment. The role requires strong technical and soft skills, along with the ability to adhere to safety protocols and work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:
- Conduct experiments and manage day-to-day laboratory operations. Tasks will vary based on the specific area, which may include Formulation labs and Active Ingredient labs.
- Prepare formulation samples, test for physical properties, assist with formulation preparation and characterization.
- Support small-scale lab activities, provide troubleshooting assistance for manufacturing facilities.
- Utilize laboratory equipment to carry out research activities. Support various research teams in completing tasks related to material science, chemical analysis, and other areas based on the area.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of PPE and compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) standards. Maintain a high level of awareness of laboratory safety procedures and ensure the correct application of these standards in daily activities.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and results. Communicate findings effectively through written reports and oral presentations.
Laboratory Technician Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant scientific field such as Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline is required.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a research, manufacturing, or engineering laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with a variety of laboratory equipment and techniques. Must be familiar with chemical and analytical equipment setups and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with teams.
- Ability to work effectively within teams, share information, and contribute to joint problem-solving efforts.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to follow SOPs and document work accurately.
- Strong understanding of EH&S standards, including the proper use of PPE and compliance with all relevant safety procedures.
