Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician will assist with formulation preparation and characterization. This role will assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research, including sample preparation, experimentation, report writing and documentation, and more.

Laboratory Technician will assist with formulation preparation and characterization. This role will assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research, including sample preparation, experimentation, report writing and documentation, and more.
Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:
- Assist with exploration, proof of concept, and development of novel formulation and delivery system technologies and concepts for new and registered active ingredients
- Support routine sample preparation and characterization
- Compliance with laboratory safety procedures
- Consistently applies sound scientific methods to solve technical problems.
- Work with insects, plant material, and nematodes while completing routine, highly detailed work.
- Work environments vary throughout the day between laboratory, greenhouse, and insectary colonies.
- Harvest roots from soil and extract nematodes from soil.
- Prepare pots and planting soil-based bioassays
- Clipping/thinning plants used in testing.
- Hands-on infesting of plant and artificial diet material with various (non-stinging, non-hazardous) insect species.
- Routine assay formulation using manual pipettes.
- Specialized assay application using hand sprayers and track sprayers.
- Laboratory maintenance (cleaning, restocking, etc.).
- BS in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related fields
- Prior experience in research or manufacturing/engineering.
- Experience in a chemistry lab, either in academic or professional lab environments.
- Experience with the design and development of formulations is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
