The Plant Manager will oversee all operational activities of the manufacturing facility, including production, quality, maintenance, and materials handling. This leadership role is critical to driving plant performance, meeting operational goals, and ensuring product quality and safety standards.

This role supports a 70-person facility running two shifts and is part of a leading custom manufacturer with complex, high-touch production processes. The company is a major player in its space and is actively investing in automation and robotics. This is a high-visibility succession opportunity with a clear path to Director of Manufacturing over three plants in the next 2–5 years.

Plant Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute manufacturing budgets and coordinate plant operations through strategic planning with department leads.
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency and cost effectiveness, including safety, quality, OTD, and plant efficiency.
  • Lead day-to-day plant operations with a focus on safety, continuous improvement, and team engagement.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, lead Kaizen events, and implement visual management practices.
  • Partner with Accounting to forecast production costs, manage budgets, and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping while promoting plant-wide safety awareness.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to integrate new products and ensure best manufacturing practices.
  • Help support the facility’s ERP upgrade to FeneVision, a key initiative for operational alignment.

Plant Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques such as 5-S and Six Sigma.
  • Proven ability in financial planning, cost management, and budget execution.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems; experience with or exposure to FeneVision a plus.
