A well-established family medical practice is seeking a motivated and experienced Practice Manager to lead daily operations and oversee billing, HR, and administrative functions. This high-impact role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a focus on both employee engagement and exceptional patient service. The role supports two practices in the same building (no travel required), including four providers and a cross-functional support staff.

Practice Manager Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day practice operations, including scheduling, patient flow, and general office administration.
  • Lead all HR functions, including hiring, performance evaluations, coaching, and terminations across both practices.
  • Manage the transition from outsourced billing to in-house billing operations; handle claims submission, appeals, payment posting, and revenue cycle oversight.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to align operations with practice goals and ensure a high-quality patient experience.
  • Communicate with patients regarding insurance coverage, balances, and payment plans.
  • Maintain accurate insurance verification, benefits coordination, and service coding documentation.
  • Monitor practice performance metrics including collections, A/R, and denial rates.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to streamline workflows and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure all administrative needs of providers and staff are met.
  • Support payroll processing in-house using QuickBooks and ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.

Practice Manager Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a family practice setting.
  • 5+ years of experience in medical billing and payroll processing.
  • Prior leadership experience overseeing multiple providers or practices under one roof.
  • Background in opening or transitioning a medical practice is a plus.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks; strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and medical billing processes.
  • Experience with EMR and billing systems (specific systems can be trained if needed).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to foster a collaborative, professional work environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
