The R&D Project Manager will assist the Project Management Office (PMO) Food team program leads by providing exceptional service & project coordination via leveraging existing tools and elevating the data sets across dashboards, project timelines and timeline connectivity between multiple projects that ladder up to priority programs. The right candidate needs to have Smartsheet experience with timeline pro+ alongside any other experience required to recommend best practice approach & training to the PMO team to develop complex project outcomes and reporting. Given the high level of interaction with PMO team members, the role needs to support both Central Standard time (CST) and British Standard time (BST).

R&D Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Create & manage different live reports (via smartsheet, timeline pro+ and excel currently – others can be recommended) when collating multiple project timelines and reporting as one program, across different sectors.
- Understand and interpret the milestones and critical path relationships needs between ‘child’ projects and the ‘parent’ program.
- Learn, understand, and be able to train R&D food associates on the use of smartsheet, timeline pro+ and interconnectivity with other data sets where applicable (e.g. excel)
- Recommend best practice approach for smartsheet & laddering up data sets projects into one program outlook. Including dashboards and automated reporting structures that align with timeline pro+ ppt views.
- Lead office-hour connects answering PMO foods queries as related to data entry, ways of working, and system functionality.
- Be available during both US Central working time zone & UK British working time zone to answer user questions or demo certain functionalities in partnership with PMO team.
- Test system enhancements and guide pilots in partnership with PMO Program leads.
- Track compliance and create relevant dashboards showing metrics on project deliverables & PMO foods KPI’s on a quarterly basis to help inform capability reviews
- Be an active participant in team & working project meetings as required. When not attending, be able to disseminate the timeline data to update remotely timelines for that project.
- Creating ‘live’ updates to be always available, with data fed from the working team meetings. Elevate key milestones and deliverables.
R&D Project Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, etc.)
- Ability to interpret technical timeline & actionable data to disseminate data into smartsheet project and program management leveraging PMO known tools and recommending new ones as appropriate.
- Exceptional data organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to rapidly learn computer applications/programs & navigate systems beyond current – keeping on top of new ways of working.
- Essential Smartsheet SME across all elements, timelines, charts, reporting, dashboards and beyond. Candidate is able to demonstrate new smartsheet applications and determine better ways of working for the data sets and needs of the PMO team.
- Project management experience essential; with PMI certification ideal but not mandatory as will be guided by PMO lead.
- Ability to collaborate and manage timebound delivery of work assignments
- Ability to build relationships in a virtual working environment and work closely with PMO Foods Team.
- Self-motivated & demonstrated ability to take initiative on projects
- Good communication skills – oral and written (e.g. communication on telephone, external and internal, managing with other support group functions, etc.)
