A growing Cleveland-based pharmaceutical company is seeking a versatile Staff Accountant to support its Accounting and Finance operations. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity offering exposure to payroll, AP, and broader financial functions within a collaborative environment.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Prepare, reconcile, and process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 35 full-time employees
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding payroll setup; HR will handle final entry into ADP
- Manage State Tax ID registrations and oversee multi-state payroll compliance
- Support bonus accruals and payouts
- Administer and maintain employee equity compensation records (grants, expirations, forfeitures)
- Oversee corporate card expenses and employee reimbursements
- Process accounts payable, handling up to 400 invoices per month
- Use Microsoft Business Central for daily accounting operations
- Partner with internal teams and external auditors, including for workers comp and financial audits
- Assist with various finance and accounting projects as needed
Staff Accountant Requirements:
- 3+ years of accounting experience with responsibilities spanning payroll and AP
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or comparable ERP systems a plus
- Understanding of multi-state tax filings and compliance processes
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
