A privately held consumer goods company in Cleveland is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Vice President of Finance to join its executive team. This role will serve as a long-term business partner to ownership and senior leadership, guiding financial planning, investment strategy, and long-term growth. The VP of Finance will lead all financial operations and help shape the future vision of the business while building and managing the finance and administrative functions.

A privately held consumer goods company in Cleveland is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Vice President of Finance to join its executive team. This role will serve as a long-term business partner to ownership and senior leadership, guiding financial planning, investment strategy, and long-term growth. The VP of Finance will lead all financial operations and help shape the future vision of the business while building and managing the finance and administrative functions.
Vice President of Finance Responsibilities:
- Oversee all core accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting
- Analyze financial performance and provide strategic insights to optimize profitability and support decision-making
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes
- Conduct ROI analysis on major initiatives and capital investments
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to define and track KPIs and financial metrics
- Oversee product costing, pricing analysis, and profitability by product/customer
- Strengthen internal controls, financial systems, and accounting policies
- Evaluate and implement tools to enhance financial planning and reporting efficiency
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Improve and manage treasury, payroll, purchasing, and inventory functions
- Manage banking relationships, insurance compliance, and debt strategies
- Serve as the point of contact for external auditors and consultants
- Lead administrative functions including HR, IT, and office management
- Provide oversight to IT consultants and ensure technology supports business needs
- Actively contribute to executive team meetings and long-term strategy discussions
- Foster a culture of high performance, learning, and continuous improvement
- Take on additional finance and operational responsibilities as needed
Vice President of Finance Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role
- Strong team-building and leadership skills
- Technologically proficient, including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (Syspro a plus)
- Well-versed in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a strong plus
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, sales, and quality
- Proven ability to mentor and lead teams at various levels
